Collection: Dahlia Rooted Cuttings

  • Please select a shipping date and add it to your cart before checking out. I plan on shipping rooted cuttings starting in April and continuing through early May. Please select a date that you are comfortable with, meaning your temperatures will be warm enough for the cuttings to survive. I do not offer heat packs at this time.
  • I am willing to ship earlier to warmer climates. Contact me here and let me know when you would like them shipped. You are responsible for checking your weather forecast. I am not liable for cold weather and do not offer heat packs at this time. I would only recommend early shipping to warmer climates (zone 8 and higher).
  • Rooted cuttings are small, baby plants that have been sprouted from dahlia tubers.
  • Rooted cuttings will be shipped in hard plastic clamshell shippers to help protect them during transport.
  • Most rooted cuttings do make tubers, as long as you plant them in time. Dahlia's need approx. 120 days to make good tubers in my experience. Zones with shorter growing times should plant as soon as it is warm enough to do so. I have heard people say that their cuttings did not make any tubers, but I have never had that happen myself. I can't guarantee the cutting will produce tubers of course.
  • I plant my rooted cuttings slightly deeper, usually 2 leaf nodes underground.
